Havin' Fun in Texas!

We flew to San Antonio for a few days to celebrate Kaeden's first birthday, do some huggin on the grandkids, have some mother/daughter yak time and have all of us play like tourists and stay on the Riverwalk for a couple of days in a wonderful historic old hotel enjoying "Fiesta". Poor Rick was a trooper, doing ALOT more walking than he should have on his poor ankle! Since we were eating out all the time, we tried to always get seating "outside" where the kids didn't have to be shh-ushed all the time and could entertain themselves throwing bread to the birds ( which I'm sure is frowned on by the staff but hey---it kept the kids from knocking over water glasses! ) For the rest of us, we found amusement whilewaiting on our food by sticking torn up empty sweetner packets on the face of whatever baby we have around at the time! This is pure time honored Boyd Family entertainment and is not only entertaining to the baby (they try and pull off as many as they can feel), but it provides much hiliarity to all the "adults" at the table who try to "quietly" laugh and snicker ( we ARE in a restaurant for cryin' out loud) while the baby gets a few stickies off but mostly have lots left on their sweet faces! They laugh cause we're laughing and it's all just the best time til the waiter shows up with our food and looks at the sticker faced baby and no doubt wonders what the heck kinda people we are anyway! Every Boyd/Colaw baby has been "papered" and they're all growing into seemingly perfectly normal kids! If you get bored waiting on your food-----and you've got a baby with you-------well-----.

Easter Weekend

This year we went to OKC/Norman to have Easter! Dave played golf with the boys the only afternoon it didn't rain and watched the Masters on TV with the boys. The girls and I did some shopping, some cooking and DIDN'T watch the Masters on TV! We decorated eggs, hid eggs, dropped eggs, ate eggs, and made Rice Krispie eggs! It was cold and rainey so we did all this in the house! We missed the other 4 grandkids cause nothing says holiday chaos like 8 kids under 7, but we made up for it by adding 5 sometimes wet and muddy dogs to the mix! Ahhhh, holidays-------INDOOR-----holidays!
