Here are some pics of our basset hounds Maggie and Gabby. I've decided that dogs are just like more kids, they just have fur. When you first bring them home, you're up with them at night. You have to buy "puppy" food for them when they're babies, buy them toys to chew when they are "teething", potty train them, brush their teeth, take them to get their shots and yearly checkups, and teach them not to put things in their mouth ( mostly your shoes, your furniture and anything else of value that belongs to you). They cry when you leave them, and get hyper ( well not in our dogs case) when you come home. They follow you around all day and scratch at the bathroom door because you're in there, and they're not. Does all this sound familiar people? Didn't we just go through all this with the "other" kids we raised? I'm thinkin' YES! Bassets are great dogs, rarely aggressive ( it takes WAY to much energy), love almost everyone they see , play in little spurts, and give you the basset hound looks that translate like, " do you HAVE to vacuum so close?" or "you mean I'm NOT suppose to have this? or "hey, YOU threw the ball, YOU go get it!" We love 'em tho and couldn't imagine not having our furry kids around.! We've got some awesome " granddogs" too------but that's another blog!

I agree completely! Our Oppie gets treated much better than the kids ever did! She is right beside me all the time. She hates for me to leave town, even takes my clothes out of the suitcase when I am trying to pack!
By the way, LOVE the bees background on your blog. It creates a real buzzzzy environment for all the latest news!
